Origin Zhejiang, China
Zhejiang province is the world's largest producer of green tea. It has a rich tea culture and many expert tea makers. Pearl tea is made in the early spring; the leaves are dried, rolled and then roasted to attain this tea's unique shape, taste and aroma. Pearl has enjoyed considerable popularity across the globe and is famous for its robust, slightly smoky flavor. It is also referred to as 'Gunpowder' due to the shape of its tightly-rolled leaves.
Flavor Profile
A strong, full-bodied green tea with smoky undertones. In Morocco and Russia, Pearl is often blended with fresh mint and sugar. Can be enjoyed hot or iced.
The Tao of Tea
Like the Tao, the art of tea is universal. We began our work serving as a connecting thread for tea culture in 1997. Practicing this art on a daily basis in our teahouses in Portland, Oregon, we are a group of tea enthusiasts from different backgrounds and cultures. We travel, learn, take delight and seek to offer pure leaf teas with great flavor, artistry and soul.
